We were established to respond to the challenges faced by orphans and needy children, particularly in underserved communities across South Western Uganda.

Founders

Needy children foundation is a Ugandan based charity Organization and was conceived by Miss Kembabazi Stidia together with Tumwine Richard after identifying problems that were being experienced in most of the communities of Uganda and both are Ugandans Natives.

Stidia is a development PR actioner holding Degree from the Uganda Christian University in Uganda while Tumwine Richard is a social worker since 2009 with both Diploma and Degree from the Uganda Christian Universities in Uganda, Tumwine Richard is also a tour operator in Uganda and Rwanda, In his free time, he does Probo nom services to help his Communities in Uganda.

We work with the children and schools in south western Uganda districts most especially districts of Kabale, Rukiga, Rubanda, Kisoro and Kanungu Districts.

 

Sponsors

If you have not sponsored any children in Africa, you can choose to sponsor a child through needy children Foundation in Uganda, there are many children in Uganda inn need of your help, there are many orphans in Uganda that would require help to go to school in Uganda. Sponsor a child in Primary school or High school, Sponsor a child at the University in Uganda.

It is Imperative to note that sponsoring a child in Uganda costs $50USD per month, the costs covers school fees, school uniform, a child personal needs effects and food for a child, we use such funds to purchase foods from the markets and distribute to sponsored children in south western Uganda.

To avoid Bank charges during the transfer of funds, it is always advisable to make annual donations or 6 month donation and the 6 month donation of a sponsored child is $300USD while the annual donation of a sponsored child is $600USD.

Donations: All donations are directly transferred to our account in Uganda, Needy children is a registered charity in Uganda and is not a charity tax deductible in other countries around the world, It’s an independent charity in Uganda with no any affiliation of any charity around the world.

Getting to Uganda

Take a flight from home into Uganda, our representatives would meet you up into Entebbe international in Uganda. Then would drive from Entebbe to Kabale town in south Uganda, the journey that will take you 7-9 hours’ drive in a bus or 6 hours’ drive in a private car. Alternatively, you can take a flight from your home area and fly into Kanombe international airport in Rwanda where our representative will still meet you., here you drive 2 hours to cross through Katuna Boarder into Uganda and is the shortest route to travel to Uganda.

 

Visa to Uganda

Some countries are Visa exempted from entering into Uganda, some other nationalities are required to pay for Visa to enter into Uganda, and we always recommend that, an East African Visa be purchased through online of $100USD before you get to the board or pay for visa on arrival. It is also recommended that East African Visa be purchased to enable you travel to other countries of East.

 

Attractions

Uganda is a beautiful country with different tourist’s attractions, for volunteers traveling to Uganda, you can do gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National park, and you can do a safari to queen Elizabeth National park or Kibale forest in National park all in Uganda. Lake bunyonyi is a place of little birds and is nearer to your volunteer work in Uganda.

 

Must See

Encounter Mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable National park in south western Uganda. How, Needy children foundation offices is 2 hours’ drive to Bwindi impenetrable National, during your free time out of volunteer work, you can book a space to be able see gorillas in Uganda, if you are coming on a safari in Uganda, you can leave some space especially 1 day to volunteer with us.

Gorilla permits in Uganda costs $800USD while in Rwanda costs $1500USD, Uganda has a comparative advantage of Rwanda in terms of gorilla tracking though gorillas are similar.

Fundraising

Needy Children Foundation is a Uganda-based charitable organization that encourages fundraising for community projects based on identified needs. We welcome individuals, groups, and organizations from around the world to become sponsors and fundraisers, supporting our work through online campaigns and physical fundraising events.

We also encourage partners who wish to work closely with us to invite our staff members to speak at fundraising events in their countries. Our team is available to share firsthand experiences, project needs, and the impact of fundraising support.

 

Fundraising Focus Areas

Supporters are encouraged to focus fundraising efforts on the following priority areas:

  • Water Projects: Fundraising for water tanks and clean water access, especially in hilly areas where communities and children travel long distances to obtain safe water.

  • School Feeding Programs: Supporting school meals so that children who currently receive only one meal per day can access two nutritious meals daily.

  • Classroom Construction: Building and expanding classrooms in South Western Uganda, where growing student populations face limited learning space.

  • School Uniforms & Scholastic Materials: Providing uniforms, books, and essential learning materials to enable children to attend and remain in school.
